WELCOME TO SAGA!

"Non-violence leads to the highest ethics, which is the goal of all evolution. Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages."

Say No to Fur

Host a screening of "The Witness"

Can you raise $20?  If you can then you can screen Tribe of Heart's The Witness, a beautiful and sad film about the horrors of the fur industry and one man's mission to make the world a more compassionate place.

Where should you screen it?  Talk to your local library to set up a screening and advertise by putting posters around your town. Can't get your library to host a screening? Invite students, friends and family to your house to enjoy vegan snacks and learn about the fur trade from this award winning documentary.  (Don't make it a public invitation if you're having it at your house)

Alicia Silverstone says about The Witness, "Eddie's story is about changing your life, taking a stand for those who can't and being true to what is right-whether it's on behalf of animals or any other cause. It's a call to all of us to do something, to make a difference. In a cynical world, that is something we can't be reminded of enough."

This film does contain graphic images.  It may bring you to tears but you will also leave with a renewed sense of duty to those who cannot speak.  We follow Eddie, a man from Brooklyn who has no care for animals find compassion for all animals through his love for a cat.  He then begins his remarkable journey towards educating others on something he feels very strongly about- the horrors of the fur industry.

What else can you do at your screening?  Use the links below to gather information and hand out fact sheets at your screening. Or check out HSUS for free pdf downloads with information.

Also have a "talk back." Inform your viewers that after the reading there will be a talk back.  You can ask what people thought of the film, what they learned from the film and how it made them feel.

Does your mom or someone you know have a fur that they won't wear anymore because they don't ethically agree with wearing fur?  Let an orphaned animal cuddle up to it to help it on it's way to a healthier life. Check out www.hsus.org/furfree/campaigns/c4c/index.html and learn how you can donate old furs to help wildlife.
