Volunteer at Your Local Shelter
Want to make a difference in the life of an animal today?
Most shelters have too many animals, are short on staff and short on money. They need volunteers from the community to come in and help out. Depending on your age, you might be able to walk a dog, socialize with a cat, or do other important work like cleaning, or helping to organize a local shelter event.
Contact your local shelter and see if they need volunteers. You could make it a club activity or volunteer by yourself. No matter what, you'll get great experience, college application material, and thankful licks and purrs from the happy animals who appreciate your help.
